4WD Adventure
Victoria's Alpine National Park and State Forest allow 4WDriving along the trails marked out. Your adventure will take you through the rugged Victorian High Country towards the famous Craig's Hut (made famous in The Man From Snowy River' movie) For the Independent four wheel drivers use of the trails is free of charge and there are maps available of the Mt Buller - Mansfield area for around $2.
Guided tours can also be arranged through the months of November to Easter each year. This is a fantastic way to soak up the most of your 4WD adventure and your guide is on hand to show you the best views the region has to offer.
Arts & Artefacts Walk
Mt Buller has a rich and varied history that reflects the mountain's evolution from a cattleman's run into a mature alpine resort
Throughout the Mt Buller Village, statues, sculptures and artworks can be found which demonstrate this rich history and portray the artistic achievements of local artists.
Stop by the Post Office and collect your copy of the Arts & Artifacts Brochure, which takes you on a self-guided tour of these amazing pieces of culture. The beautifully designed brochure details each work and it's location, as well as giving you some history on the piece and the artist.

Biking
Like many of the alpine regions in Victoria and New South Wales, Leisure biking, Cross Country and Mountain biking are the perfect equivalent for outdoor enthusiasts. Many of the resorts like Mt Buller utilise their chairlifts for summer access. Whatever your preference Mt buller has trails for the very beginner to the exhilaration of the downhill course and the freedom of the cross country trails.
Bikes can be hired from the resort and Mt Buller run a number of Clinics so even a novice will have plenty of fun!
Chairlift Rides
The Horse Hill Chairlift is open between 26 December to 31 January from 10am - 4pm daily and cost just $10 for adults and children. Taking a chairlift ride is the easiest way to see Victoria's breathtaking views without exerting all that energy. This is great for families who are looking for low impact activities or at the end of your holiday to wind down and top off your stay with views of the High Country.
Cinema
Mt Bullers Cinema is open year round showing films in Summer Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8pm.
Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for kids. The cinema also has a snack bar for all important movie treats!

Climbing and Abseiling
Feel a sense of achievement when you conquer some of nature's steepest challenges, or the freedom of abseiling down a cliff face. There are several locations out on the mountain and in the surrounding areas that are perfect for these adventure sports. So pack some courage and we'll show you the ropes'.
Indoor climbing is also available upon request at the sports hall located within the Buller Community Centre.
Gnome Roam
Come and talk a walk with Mt Buller's little folk! The Mt Buller Gnome Roam takes visitors on a self-guided tour of the mystical gnome world of the mountain village where they will catch a glimpse of resident Mt Buller gnomes, learn about their favourite places to play as well as some interesting facts about the gnome way of life.
Visitors can collect a Mt Buller Gnome Roam booklet from the Mt Buller Post Office to guide them through the Roam. The booklet, which makes a perfect keepsake, contains an intricately designed map and beautiful photos of Mt Buller Gnome folk. A further bonus is the gnome stickers available at the Post Office as a reward for completing the Roam.
On your way up the mountain, you can also stop in at the Gnome Home for a visit. Located about 3km up the Mt Buller Tourist Rd, keep an eye out for the Gnome Crossing sign and just past that you will find the Gnome Home, in a majestic Mountain Ash tree.
Flyfishing
Fly fishing is a popular sport in the area and a great way to enjoy the tranquility of the North East streams. You can experience these scenic spots independently or take advantage of a professional fishing instructor.
Experienced guides teach the art of casting, lure fishing and stream craft whilst actively promoting sustainable angling through a catch and release program. Check out the fly fishing packages offered by the Australian Alpine Institute:
